MSR Holdings is proud to support the Special Olympics, the world’s largest sports organization for children and adults with intellectual disabilities. The charitable organization provides year-round sports training and athletic competitions to more than 5.3 million athletes and Unified Sports partners in nearly 170 countries.
Our Vice President of Operations, Larry Heath, recently presented a $500 cheque to Canadian athletes Jackie (swimming, basketball, and golf) and Don (volleyball) at a fund raising event in Orlando, Florida.
Here are a few words from the Special Olympics representative:
“Through the power of sports, people with intellectual disabilities discover new strengths and abilities, skills and success. Our athletes find joy, confidence and fulfillment — on the playing field and in life. They also inspire people in their communities and elsewhere to open their hearts to a wider world of human talents and potential. Special Olympics is the leading voice in raising awareness about the abilities of people with intellectual disabilities.”
“Their stories and successes inspire us all. We believe in a world where there are millions of different abilities but not disabilities. And we’re spreading this message everywhere – at big Special Olympics events and small ones.”
