A new report from today’s Globe and Mail—“U.S. Home Prices Jump in August by Most in 6 Years”—shows that American home prices increased by “4.6 per cent in August compared to a year ago,” which is the “largest year-over-year increase in more than six years.”
The Globe observes that “stedy price increases, combined with greater home sales and rising builder confidence, suggest the U.S. housing recovery may be sustainable.”
The American real-estate market remains an extremely good investment opportunity for Canadians looking for a safe capital investment with rental-income potential as “many [American] would-be buyers can’t qualify for stricter lender standards or save enough money for larger down payments that most banks now require,” says The Globe.
